Day 1 - Cochin

Travel Time:  Within 1 Hour

  • Afternoon Drive Around Fort Kochi Including The Old Jewish Quarter And Synagogue, Chinese Fishing Nets, St Francis Church (1516), Spice Markets And The Lovely Old Streets Of Mattancherry.

Day 2 - Thattekad

Travel Time: Within 2 Hours

  • Travel To The Foothills Of The Western Ghats And Reach The Periyar River At Thattekad
  • Relax In Your Own Exclusive Private Villa By The Banks Of The Gorgeous Periyar River Rolling Over Rocks And Boulders.

Day 3 – Thattekad

Local Experiences

  • Country Boat Ride - Take A Ride In A Country Boat On The Periyar. The Country Boat Is Used Largely By Village Inhabitants For Commuting In The Waterways And Their Fishing Expeditions.
  • Kayaking - A Real Fun Activity Wherein You Paddle Your Sturdy Kayaks Along The River With Great Views Of The Forests On Either Banks. Staff Would Accompany You In A Separate Country Boat For Any Assistance You May Require.

Day 4 – Thekkady

Travel Time: Within 3.5 Hours

  • Travel On The Winding Road Up The Western Ghats Passing Tea And Rubber Estates To Arrive And Relax At Thekkady Where The Air Is Filled With The Heady Aroma Of Spices.
  • Experience A Display Of Kalarippayattu - An Exhilarating Indian Martial Art That Originated In Kerala, And One Of The Oldest Surviving Martial Arts In The World.
  • Enjoy Dinner At The Popular Local Style ‘Bar-B-Que Restaurant’ In Kumily Town.

Day 5 – Thekkady

Local Experiences

  • A 5 Hour Hiking And Rafting Program Through Forest Tracts Of Periyar Tiger Reserve. A Mosaic Of Habitats Will Be Traversed Before The Party Gets Into Bamboo Rafts Where Wildlife Like Elephant, Gaur And Sambar Deer Are Sighted Close To The Edges Of The Periyar Lake. The Program Has 3-4 Hours Trekking And 1 Hour Rafting.
  • Or Three Hour Jeep Safari Ride To Gavi Forest To Observe Wild Elephants, Indian Bison (Gaur) Nilgiri Tahr And Lion-tailed Macaque, With The Possibility Of Leopard Sightings.

Day 6 – The Backwaters

Travel Time: Within 4 Hours
